Learn what to do if you end up out of your canoe or kayak and how to safely get back in—whether on your own or with help from a paddling partner. This hands-on safety-focused clinic is ideal for paddlers looking to expand their comfort zone while building confidence on the water.

Capsizing can happen to anyone, and knowing how to respond makes all the difference. This course will help you prepare for real-world scenarios and feel more secure on both short trips and longer expeditions.

Topics include:

  • Self-rescue techniques for canoe and kayak

  • Assisted rescues with a partner

  • Safe re-entry into your boat

  • Best practices for solo and group paddling

  • Recommended contents for a personal safety kit

This class is open to all skill levels and can be adapted for participants with varying mobility needs.

A portion of each registration supports a local cause—50% of course fees will be donated to Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks (SARNAK).
